Chelsea star midfielder N’Golo Kante made an unexpected appearance at a fan Frank Khalid’s daughters’ wedding.
Frank Khalid, father of the bride invited Kante to his daughter Henna Khalid and Raheel Malik’s wedding. Having initially declined the invitation due to commitments with his club, Kante RSVP’d immediately after learning that he would be unable to play Saturday's 2-2 draw with Sheffield United due to an injury he picked up.
“We became friends when I was introduced to him by a friend and he came to my restaurant,” Frank told The Sun of his relationship with Kante.
"I invited him and originally he couldn’t attend because of his commitment to the French national team, but because of his injury, he messaged me saying he was coming.
"My family and myself are very close to N'Golo and he was one of the first people to visit me when I had my triple bypass surgery operation in April 2018.
Kante has a reputation of being one of the nicest, most humble men in the football world and fulfilling this fan’s wish has made everyone appreciate him even more.
Khalid posted multiple videos on his social media, in which Kante can be seen interacting with the guests and enjoying what can be called a “desi wedding”.
“He stayed till the end and was so nice to everyone and signed autographs and took selfies with the guests.”
Kante’s has won a World Cup medal with France and two Premier League championship medals with Leicester and Chelsea respectively.
This small act of kindness from a genuine football star not only made the fan and his daughters day special but also gave the hundreds of guests something to remember him by.
