Kante, who missed Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United with injury, was first introduced to Blues supporter Frank Khalid through a friend and subsequently visited Mr Khalid’s restaurant in Mitcham, south London.
The pair struck up a strong friendship, but when Mr Khalid invited Kante along to his daughter’s wedding, the two-time Premier League winner refused because of his footballing commitments over the same weekend.
However, Kante picked up a knock in the win at Norwich last month, forcing him out of the France squad for the September international break and freeing the midfielder to attend the wedding.
Kante stunned the father of the bride with a message confirming his attendance in the days leading up to the ceremony.
"I invited him and originally he couldn’t attend because of his commitment to the French national team, but because of his injury he messaged me saying he was coming,” Mr Khalid told The Sun.
"My family and myself are very close to N'Golo and he was one of the first people to visit me when I had my triple bypass surgery operation in April 2018.
"He stayed till the end and was so nice to everyone and signed autographs and took selfies with the guests.
My daughter's name is Henna Khalid and her husband is Raheel Malik. He is an amazing person with a golden heart."
